On July 25, NCD and its federal partners will celebrate the 15th ADA anniversary with two events. The first is a commemorative, invitation-only reception at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., where former President George H. W. Bush will be the keynote speaker.

The second part of the program is an ADA seminar that will take place on July 26, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at the Marriott at Metro Center in Washington, DC. Parsons, KS: SKIL Resource Center in Kansas will be celebrating the anniversary of the ADA with a 3 day benefit motorcycle rally. This is the second year of the event called Freedom Ride. Toledo, OH: The Ability Center of Greater Toledo is organizing "6th Annual ADA Day at the Toledo Zoo". This year, the event will feature 80 disability-related organizations and vendors (mostly non-profit org's.) in an outdoor setting for what is Northwest Ohio largest disability information fair. The event will take place on Monday, July 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - the event is free with an admission to the Zoo, and the zoo is free to Lucas County residents from 10 - noon. These and other obvious structural changes in the community are possible due to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), enacted precisely fifteen years ago. Community leaders, government officials, and people with disabilities of all ages will be celebrating this phenomenal act of legislation on July 26, Tuesday evening, from 6 – 9 pm, with an ADA 15th Anniversary Celebration at Lichterman Nature Center, 5992 Quince Road, 767-7322.

Nashville, TN: SCLC Memphis Chapter and the clergy will be at the Capitol Building in Nashville on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at 12:00 noon carrying food and beverages for the protestors outside of the Governor's office. A press conference will be held at the above mention time outside the Governor's Office. SCLC Memphis Chapter demonstration is most significant in that Tuesday, July 26, 2005 will be the 15th Anniversary of the signing of "The American's With Disabilities Act of 1990." A group of disabled citizens from Memphis and Nashville will be participating in the demonstration to be led by SCLC Memphis Chapter and the clergy.
