ADA Zoo Day -- 10th Anniversary Celebration of Passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act
On July 26, 2000, people all across the country will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Ability Center and over 30 other service agencies will be celebrating this milestone event with a day at the Toledo Zoo.
Everyday consumers call The Ability Center searching for information on disability-related goods and services. Providing them with another venue to see and speak with service organizations and vendors in the area is one of the goals of the ADA Zoo Day Event.
There will be plenty to see and do with interactive displays and demonstrations. Some of the organizations committed to the success of this event include: Adelante, Assistance Dogs of America, Camp Courageous, David's House, Easter Seals, Epilepsy Center, Goodwill Industries, Kidney Foundation, Lott Industries, Toledo MetroParks and Vail Meadows Therapeutic Riding Center. Senator Linda Furney has also promised to be on hand for the event.
